Brief

What we were asked to do

A development brief rather than a design one. The art direction was already settled; what was needed was someone to build it properly, including a set of motion and transition effects that were central to how the pages were meant to feel rather than ornament applied at the end. The work was judged on two things: how faithfully the build matched the design, and how smoothly the animation ran on the ordinary hardware guests actually browse on.

Output

What we made

A hand-built front end covering the home page, the property and about sections, and an image gallery. The animation work was the substance of the project: scroll-driven and transition effects implemented so they stay smooth rather than stuttering, degrade sensibly on lower-powered devices, and never get in the way of someone who is simply trying to look at rooms and photographs. Image handling was tuned alongside it, since a hotel site is mostly photography and every effect competes with it for the same frame budget.

Results

What it did

The brand presents its properties with the motion and polish the design intended, without trading away the speed a guest needs when they are comparing hotels on a phone.
