Vico Indonesia

VICO Indonesia was an upstream oil and gas operator in East Kalimantan, working under the production sharing regime overseen by SKK Migas. Like any operator of that kind it ran on documents: engineering standards, safety procedures, audit results and regulatory records, spread across divisions and across sites. Staff needed one reliable place to find the current version of any of it, and departments needed somewhere they could publish to themselves without going through IT for every change. The brief was an intranet — a single internal platform where each division runs its own area under shared navigation and a shared identity, with the everyday internal tools people depend on gathered into the same place rather than scattered across separate systems.

A departmental intranet built around a common frame. Each division got its own portal, with consistent header, personal navigation and breadcrumbs, so moving between departments never feels like leaving the system. Behind each portal sits a structured document library holding that division's material — versioned, browsable and current, rather than mailed around as attachments. Each portal also gathers its division's internal web applications behind a single directory, so the tools a team uses day to day sit alongside the documents that govern them. News and announcement areas give every department a way to publish to its own people, and a personalised layer puts each employee's own sites and links a click away.

Staff across the operation had one internal address for the documents their work depended on, with the current version in a findable place rather than in somebody's inbox — which matters more than usual in a business where safety and engineering documentation is a regulatory obligation rather than merely good practice. Departments could maintain their own areas without queuing for help, and the tools people used every day sat next to the records that governed them.
